After Effects CC has an effect called the warp stabiliser which you can use to stops shaky camera shots from wobbling too much.  Before this arrived we would track and object and then manually adjust the image and I still use this method on some occasions because it sometimes gives you better results (IMO) that the warp stabiliser.
