EDITING 4K video in EDIUSIn this video we look at editing 4K footage in EDIUS 7. While we were making this video EDIUS 8 was released, but rather than remake everything we had filmed we decided to finish the video we were preparing. Editing 4K video in EDIUS 8 is the same as editing video in EDIUS 7; most formats perform in the same way and it can work with the same range of i.o devices. |
A complete edit in EDIUS 7This tutorial will take you through a complete edit in EDIUS 7, covering importing AVCHD footage, editing, trimming, adjusting audio and adding titles all the way to making a Blu-ray disc and DVD with EDIUS’ built-in disc authoring tools and also exporting an MP4 file for upload to YouTube. The entire tutorial lasts about 1 hour. This tutorial will serve as a good introduction to EDIUS for anyone who has just switched to the program, or a good place to see some of the basics of the program simply explained for anyone thinking of switching from another editor. It also gives you a good idea of the style of presentation of our tutorial videos if you are considering investing in a set. These videos are taken from the first section of the first disc of our 4 disc tutorial set. If you already own our tutorials the online section is the same as on our current discs, except we have updated the last few chapters to cover the disc export from EDIUS 7, as well as making an MP4 file. |
EDIUS 7 and Blackmagic devicesThis tutorial is designed to explore one of the main new features in Grass Valley EDIUS 7 – the ability to use Blackmagic hardware for capture and playback. Future updates to EDIUS will let you use Matrox Mx02 and AJA cards as well, although with the first release of EDIUS only the Matrox MX02LE is the only other third party card supported, and even then, only for playback. AAF Export in EDIUS Pro 7AAF is a way of transferring a project from one program to another. It does so as a series of cuts so you can tweak the edit in the new program, although not everything is transferred. It is extremely useful if trying to take an edit to Resolve for grading or to another editing program. |

GRASS VALLEY AVCHD2HQ 4.1AVCHD2HQ was invented to convert AVCHD footage to Canopus HQ format for the days when computers could not cope with this highly compressed format. A modern computer and EDIUS 6 can easily cope with AVCHD to there is no need to transcode the footage, however, Grass Valley have recently added several features including better quality downscaling and some STEREOSCOPIC options. |
